What a special day for this adorable couple! Sara and I went to church together so we knew each other for several years and she would hang out with my little guys downstairs. It was really exciting to share this special day with her. We began the day getting her hair done by her favorite hairdresser. During family portraits I was able to capture this funny moment of all the guys playing their "mobile devices". LERVE IT!

I'm so thrilled to have been able to help capture their beautiful day and can't wait to see all that is in store for their future. Wish you two the best!

Can you say HOTNESS....This bride was sizzling w/ not only beauty, but grace and emotion!

MY FABULOUS SECOND SHOOTER JENNIFER GEER! She rocked her first day working with me. She not only captured fabulous shots, but she helped so much in helping the day run very smoothly.

The weather was incredible after the monsoon that passed through the city. I remember when Meg and I first met, I added that it appears I have a special deal with MOTHER NATURE that when I'm shooting a wedding she sets it up REAL NICE for me. Meg and I joked on her day that she was going to call me a liar because it didn't appear like it was headed that way, but sure enough sunny skies for the fabulous couple.

This bride was not without grace throughout the entire day making sure everyone was having a great time. Meghann and PJ congrats to you in sharing your life together and thanks for letting me be a part of it!!!

A very bright and sunny day at the farm for this couple. They were so amazing and we had a blast running around the lake and even their precious Lilly wanted to go swimming with the ducks. So cute. I had to put this collage together of this series of shots on the swinging bench. Thanks to Derrick's mom for holding up a reflector for me in the bright sun!! Loves.

The Stork Revisited

Growing up I remember images of my childhood. In books, the stork was a symbol of good luck and maternal values. I found this vintage postcard of the stork being portrayed as a villain. This just cracked me up. It's amazing to me how you can be creative with photography options. I personally like to keep my pictures for the most part true but once in awhile, I like to add a twist to my images. This past session was no exception. My beautiful friend Kassy is expecting her first child. She chose a vintage feel with her outfits and asked me to add a feel in my editing. Her husband was a great sport in going along with all my silly jokes and antics. These are some of my favorites.

Haleigh & Zachary -Engaged!

If there was a cuter couple in love, I want someone to share because working with these two is why I love my job!! Sometimes it may have felt a little like a game of Twister, but you two were the best sports. We met at the Pagoda downtown Evansville and spent the morning laughing. As part of my wedding package you receive a free engagement session. I find this gives us time to get to know each other and pin down your style. Zachary is in boxing, so we had to break the ice with the gloves. They will have pink in their wedding colors, it just so happened that when I asked Zach to bring his gloves, he had a pink pair for Haleigh. My kind of people.

Santa brought me a Nikon D300 for Christmas. This beauty is amazing. Not only did a get a new pro body camera, but I also received a full day of training on how to use it. Why the switch from Canon to Nikon?

*the wedding photographer I train with uses Nikon. I wanted to make sure that when I helped her out for the day, I wasn't refreshing my learning skills all over again because if you know Canon and Nikon are pretty much opposite when it comes to putting lenses on, settings, and other things. Just easier. Also I really love the quality images I'm getting with this baby. It just made sense for me. I really enjoyed using Canon and for the most part this was my main reason. I'm looking forward to what this means as far as bringing better quality over all to my images. See for yourself.

Can I say how amazing this family was today! Had a blast chasing the little guy around.

This was in their own backyard, which can make for the best sessions. The forecast wasn't promising and we almost canceled, but we held out and the overcast sky was just perfect.

Can we say HOT TAMLES? Yes.

Vacation

This was the view outside our hotel room! We were able to drive down to Daytona Beach. Our first visit to Florida. It was incredible blue oceans and wonderful weather.

This show had flying parrots over our heads and they road the dolphins!

Lil Man is 1!!

Yes that's my second son who is 1 year old today. He is the cutest little big guy ever. I love him so much and couldn't ask for a better dad to teach him how to be a man. These are my guys. Have a great day Zach!!

Where the Wild Things Can Be

Recently I was able to go play around taking some shots out at A to Z animals. This man used to work with our local zoo and now raises everything from ducks to Kangaroos. He actually danced with this crane above. That was something to see. The bird got jealous of me because I was too close to this man, and he came close enough to try to nip at me, but alas I escaped unscathed.

I enjoy working with animals.

Baseball Action Shots

This was my first attempt at sports action shooting. I was told to just go out and capture some "Action". Out in the dugout, I was again not worried about getting slammed by a foul ball, but I was concerned that I didn't know anything about the sport. This gave me a different perspective. Instead of capturing some great play on film, I found out that there is a definant art to baseball. The way the body moves, and how the players have to distort themselves to hit that ball! Or throw it.

During the game, the players were icing, warming, and wrapping all parts of themselves and now I see why. Thanks Legends for letting me share your day! You do a great job.

Horse Portraits

I tried my hand at horse portraiture. I was not even nervous to be in the ring and up close because as a small child I had these beasts of beauty in my backyard. They are so fun to capture. The second image I did on purpose and broke the rule to shoot them where they don't look distorted because I just thought it was neat. When I find out I'll be doing something different I research everything about that subject. The best light, what specifically to watch out for. Especially with animals, you need to make sure you are protecting yourself, the animals, and your camera. I realized when I got out there the dust might be an issue, but it wasn't too bad.

I'm looking forward to working with a local stable in the future here for some more fun shots.

Birthday Party

Over the weekend, my beloved grandma turned a young 80. For a present my cousin Sara and I joined forces to capture the event. We also took some pics for each other to use for our businesses.

She owns Beautiful Beginnings Photography and has helped me start out in my business.

While we were at the party, we had so much fun capturing the love that "My Nan" conveyed.

There was a memories basket that everyone shared some of their favorite memories growing up with her. It was an inspiring day.

My first pregnancy session was very special to me because it's who, but my little sister. Robby is about ready to give birth to the FIRST girl in our family from us siblings.

It's only appropriate that we take a few pictures with props before her arrival. This also gives you a chance to see what I can maybe do for your special time in your life.

A Model Senior

My dear friend Amanda spent the morning with me yesterday and let me put her in the bushes and lay on the street. We asked each other a couple times if the thing we were about to come into contact with was poison ivy. A session earlier, I actually got poison ivy on my face, so I'm no expert there. Anyway we had a lovely time. Amanda is the model citizen. Lol. The rain made no appearance.

Training Day

This weekend, I will begin working with a wedding photographer to learn some technical aspects of the business. Not only do I get to spend time with a fabulous family on their happy day, I will be able to do what I enjoy and make a little money for my family.

We serve such an amazing God that he made a way for me to just be content in this world. He loves me that much that he offer opportunity for my family and to keep my mind alive with new things.

Encouragement is really important for a creative person like me, so he has made that happen throughout this time with little moments here and there. I couldn't ask for more.

The Hunt..

My husband is a graphic designer so for the year end, I asked him to do a few tasks for me to get my little business going here. He is working on a new website for me. He finished my business cards which I love! See above. I am very grateful t0 my family for purchasing my camera so that I could take the fabulous pictures I have always wanted to. The new year is going to be so fun working with all the new clients I have lined up so far. I'm so grateful to your support and love in making what I love fabulous every day.

A day of insanity

Kids and your family especially, are always a challenge. When I got to my destination this morning, the sun was shining and the frost was biting. I ran outside and got everything ready, checked my lighting. Then rushed the kids outside. I actually only was able to get 3 shots a piece before they started complaining of the cold. Then we ran inside to take the rest. How many outfits can you get on four children? A lot!!

We had a great time in the chaos. This is DEFINITLY my passion.

I have been spending the evening figuring out the ROES operation system for my ordering process. It's fabulous and easy. I use two seperate companies for ordering and they have great customer service so far. I have all these neato pictures to look at.. This evening I got really excited!!! I realized that this is really TRULY just me. Who I am is a photographer. My husband likes to play guitar. I like to mess with pictures. I worked on a customer order and one specific print sizing truly for about 3 hours. I had to play EN VOGUE "NEver Gonna Get it" b/c I really thought I wouldn't get it. Luckily my husband is proficient in photoshop and he can do all kinds of tricks. Hence teaching me the tricks. But anyway, my sweet Gracie was the subject I was working on. Thank goodness she is beautiful b/c I looked at her smiling face OVER AND OVER again. Teehee. Just kidding. All my subjects are amazing.

A very good place to start...

Yes I'm cheesy. I'm silly. I'm a photographer. I observe your life and try to capture what you are inside of that little click of the button. Right now I am beginning my journey as a professional photographer. I am a stay at home mom of two boys. I realized for some time now that I spend my free time editing pictures. I love spending time with families and being goofy with the kids. I like to capture what is going on with you RIGHT NOW.
